Well its started already...out having a lovely hack earlier when we hear a car coming behind us, all of a sudden this car starts beeping its horn as its approaching!
shocked.gif
We had already seen it so were moving out of the way and as it drove past I looked in and there was an old doddery couple and the woman was making gestures with her hands and pulling faces as if to say get out of the way!!!

1. What kind of stupid old fool would beep their horn a million times to warn us they were coming
confused.gif
(good job our horses arent too spooky) for god sake we're not blind or deaf we saw you coming!
2. How dare she tell us to get out of the way..we were on the grass verge!!!There was plenty of room for them to pass.
So anyway I couldnt control my rage
crazy.gif
and promptly stuck 2 fingers up to them followed by a string of abuse...Im gona have to get up and go riding at 7am in the summer to avoid day trippers in future

If it happens again, keep calm, and take the reg number and report to the Police.
Thye may then have a call from a nice Policeperson who will educate them. Probably the sort of driver who is alway in the right, in his opinion!

I would of but my friend took her phone instead of me today and I didnt shout in time for her to get her phone out and take the reg down..I would of if I had mine on me! I can almost imagine what they were saying...oh look stupid horses in the way..and the woman going 'give them a toot' silly fools!

'fraid it is the same round here - it's the oldies who are the most impatient. The young guys in their precious cars with ghetto blasters, usually pull over and turn music and engine off
smirk.gif
- obvously protective of their beloved motors. The oldies just keep on coming

i know how you feel, I have a young horse who can be a bit spooky, so I always wear my tabbard that says caution young horse. Well the other day i was hacking out and this van came up, i was almost at teh end of the road so i could oull in as road is very narrow, when he decided he couldnt wait and drove and squished past, causing my horse to crush right into a bush to avoid being hit by the van! Luckily he was very good and calm, though did give the van a dirty look, lol.

Ah, now that's when I find stirrup irons are VERY handy. Also a boot against the wing mirror tends to get their attention!

In common with everyone else, I find the oldies the most dangerous. Round our way, they try to get your attention by driving a couple of inches behind the horse revving their engines

I must try to train my boy to projection poo on command!

We have also been shouted at and been given various Anglo-Saxon hand signals by cars coming towards us, because we are riding two abreast.....on our own side of the road
confused.gif
I still havn't figured that one out.

Face it...they are a bunch of nutters

It is ridiculous some drivers attitudes to horses, however I'd never retaliate (sp) there and then for fear of what they'd do. Wasn't there a case of a driver who deliberately drove into a horse and rider killing the horse? Getting their number is a good idea and then report them to the police.

I can't believe it, I have exactly the same problem and I don't understand why old people don't understand!? It makes no sense!

Happy Riding

Ive stuck my fingers up before now and on 2 occasions the person stopped and got out of the car! both times ive got into a verbal argument with the drivers!! but tbh i think that as i was on my own on one of the occasions i should take the number down and report them, there are so many idiots around nowadays you dont know what they are going to do..
