...someone just mentioned the festive season to me. She said BOXING DAY!!! you know who you are!!

Do I really have to drag my butt into winter, can't I just bury my head in the sand and pretend it won't come?!

 
Haha. I know what you mean. I've got the TV on in the background and heard an advert advertising getting alcohol in for the "festive season".....at this rate we won't have an unfestive season.....I've just been to the yard as it's really cold at night at the moment here, so thought I'd be kind and put a lightweight on them...in fact it was so cold this morning that my windscreen was frozen - almost felt like snow!!! So no, get that head out of the sand and start thinking about Chrissie pressies.....x
 
Lol no kidding, they started putting lights up down the road on the way into town and I actually started screaming in a mortified way 'NOOOOO.MAKE THEM STOP, MAKE THEM STOP!!!'

I felt rather like Pheobie out of friends for a moment....

Boxing Day is GOOD:D

It means that Christmas is over and 364 days away:D

Boxing Day always meant Boxing Day Meet to me, the only good thing about Christmas, closely followed by New Years Day Meet.

Days are getting longer, Spring is around the corner. Yep, Boxing Day is good.

-4C here at 8.30am this morning, frost on the ground, very pretty, only 6 or 7 months until summer:D

I'd happily emigrate for 8months of the year! I'm sure Bustie would love a bit of Jamaican or Florida sun....not sure Hairy would cope though...

Actually, for the first time ever I have, normally its in a mad 'day before christmas' dash but I actually started thinking about it 6 weeks ago!!!! Purely for selfish reasons though, I made:

1L Blackberry Vodka,
1L Raspberry Gin
1L Black Cherry Vodka
1L of Sloe Gin

Result!!! I can decant it into little pots at christmas and bingo, instant presents and leftovers for me :) Weeeeell I have to have something to keep my toe warm and put in my Boxing Day hip flask if I go, OMG I said the 'B-D' Word!

*Screams and runs to shake up her alcohol, willing it to hurry up so she can drink herself through the season of good will and festive stuff*
 
Aha that would probably be me?!!

Let's put it into context here, I only mentioned xmas because of Boxing day hunting!! :D I think I need to try some of this here blackberry vodka... it sounds nice and I'm looking for something to go in my hipflask!
 
Boxing day depressesme as I ALWAYS miss the boxing day meet as I have to go back home to visit the parents now....so I'm never home to go :( :( I am contemplating taking my horse back one year lol and going for the one day with my old hunt!!

Actually when I see all that white snow, it's quite nice......although that was last year when my horse was on full livery - no such luxury this year - two horses on DIY....could mean a few hairy drives to the yard!!

Skittles Vodka
Mint Aero Vodka
Choc orange Vodka
Mars Vodka
Christmas Cake Vodka (*Gah! 'C' word!)
White Chocolate Vodka
Raspberry Ripple Vodka

The list is endless, and no people not the tales of a miss spent youth, I call that the foundations of a tres important education ;) x

2/3 bottle of vodka, 1/3 favourite choccy. lid on, put in dishwasher, keep opening diswasher and shaking bottle throughout cycle, et voila PARTY TIME x

*only suitable for 18+ obviously :)

I do belive that vodka is the potato of the drinks world, so versatile. :D Skittles is pretty awesome.

Raspberry ripple sounds pretty cool, I might have to have a try of that, for educational purposes of course. :)

Haha that's so last season's! I'm thinking fluffy mitts for this year to be added and possibly funky colour arrangements.... :p

On the alcohol note...enlighten me on how you make it pleeeeease!! :D

which ones? with the sweetie/ chocolate one: 2/3 vodka, 1/3 sweeties in bottle and add dishwasher (see previous post)

Re: fruit gin/ vodka
450g/1lb fruit

225g/8oz caster sugar

1 litre/1¾ pint gin/ vodka
(altough I like sloe gin sweeter and match the weight of sloes to the weight of sugar)

shake daily for a month and leave for 6 months or more, 12 better. With blackberries only leave for 3 months or it starts to taste woody. (apparently blackberries v good in whisky too)

actually, tasting session is planned, you will be invited hun x skittles vodka see previous post, the diswasher is your friend ;) remove the green ones though or it looks like sludge :)
