We have had 'proper' rain today for the first time in over a month!! We had a downpour on Thursday but otherwise it has been nice and warm and dry. Even now it has finally stopped raining and is blue sky and sunshine again.
Am thinking I will have to poo pick in a bit - will give it until 4.30.............
i cant remember when it last rained as long as this.
Thank god i have stables. Thought my mare was going to fall over she was shivering so much. They have been in since Thursday and just getting out for a few hours a day. The field is flooded and just mud.
started off bad in south wales, then got better about mid day, i thought iwould have dinner before riding, bad idea, rained all afternoon. now going to get wet
I have the same problem the minute it pours here cause we've got an underfield cundy (wee burn) through our field and when it pours that floods and forget the field for the rest of the winter - a couple of hours is all mine would get at best too ! It's not even November ah!!
Rain and severe gales, I am just about to move some horses out of the barn because the roof is waving up and down (again - thought it was fixed
) and the river is higher and faster than I've ever seen it
Fortunately we live at the top of the hill
Went for a hack this morning before it got really bad, and I wouldn't let son and Tommy Tucker go through the ford in case they were washed down the waterfall - ID Charlie and I took it at a run and I made son lead TT over a very narrow person-bridge
It reminded me of those Westerns where the river is in full flood and the wagon train and cowboys are being chased by Indians

OMG!!! WHERE do you live?? I'm down in Oxfordshire and I had horrid rain this morning (which stopped when I finished trying fab mare, typical!) but besides that it's being mildish all week!
We have had the opposite problem, yesterday it was so warm the horses were sweating buckets even with rugs off! Today it has been wet, but about 18 degrees, so it feels really muggy and yuck.
Sorry about the floods you guys have, that looks like really bad news.
Yeah, I hear ya! It was dry for a brief spell this morning, but since then!! Kept most people away from dressage, too. And the tracks have a new water jump on them!
