Think the bidders should be pointed in the direction of Robinsons

I had a bidding war happen like this on a saddle I had for sale. Was expecting 40 quid for it and the winning bidder bid like £150 and people went mad fighting over it. They then didn't bother to pay and ebay didn't bother to do anything about it. So although the bidding is this high the seller might not actually see that much money.

I got a 42'' beutiful caldene for £125 at burghley 5 yrs ago- mad people and htere is a specialist clothing company for the larger rider now too!!!

I had bought a skeleton Halloween outfit for my son from TESCO it was a really good one with a ace mask and gloves but still it only cost me something like a tenner.

Put it on ebay started it at like 20p and it ended up going for £36.50

Thats ebay for you when bidding fever takes over! I remember at the begining of the year i saw a pair of cordless clippers enough to trim the fluffy bits up on the horses and i checked round and the cheapest i found them on the internet was for £19. When i came to put my bid in they were already upto £47!!!!! Im gobsmaked that given they are on an online auction site that they cant google them and see what they cost in a shop..?! Madness utter madness!!

I had a brand new show jacket that I just never used in childs 12yrs, cost about £20 from a tack shop so put it on with a £5 reserve and it went for £45, do people not do their research on the internet? (not that I'm comlaining)

ETA that jacket doesn't even say what make it is

crazy buggers!!!

Alarm bells are ringing for me, a lot of bids put in over a half hr period, private listing which won't then show even bidder numbers and their feedback star/number of bids with that seller, I think a lot of shill bidding was going on in that auction. Could be wrong but why would a seller sell a show jacket as a private listing otherwise...

It even says it still has the price label attached.. whoever paid £155 for it is going to get a shock!! I got a lovely Caldene tweed jacket off eBay a couple of weeks ago for only £30! I must be worth about £100 lol

Whoever bought that is an idiot ^_^
