OMG - surgery postponed, Molly has had allergic reaction

Just had call from vets, splint fracture surgery on my pony had to be postponed as she had allergic reaction overnight, probably to the shavings in her stable, and she has compromised airway.

She has to come home for week on steroids (nightmare lami risk!!) and try again in a week.

Really can't cope with all this stress, just want her better. Its all turning in to a big nightmare

Oh no, I remember your post from yesterday, so sorry that Molly isn't well and the op can't go ahead - your nerves must be in tatters

If it is any help my boy is on steroids at the moment for his COPD, he had to have a 2 week course of injections and then tablets - at the moment he is just fine (touches all wood within reach!). I just have to keep an eye on his temp (apparently the steroid can mask infections) and obviously his feet.

Rember to look after yourself too. I know with all the stress and worry it's easy said then done!! Hope tablets kick in soon.

Oh no . . . just when you had psyched yourself up for the surgery. Hope she recovers well from the allergy and gets the surgery done soon.
