OMG that was terrifying

Did some xc today (i have a xc course at home) and at this particular fence my pony sort of half refused half slipped and he skidded into the fence. It was like a cross poles with a bar on top of it (about 3ft) and i dont know how he managed it but he got his leg through in between the cross and the top bar and he panicked and has half rearing trying to get his leg out.... I jumped off and managed to get his leg out.... We were both shaken but he seems fine...

Scariest thing ever... i was so scared he was going to break his leg....

Glad you are both OK. Did you pop over a small fence afterwards just to show him fences aren't scary horse eating monsters?

Yes i did... as soon as i was sure he was ok i popped over a little log

if he could get his leg stuck then the fence wasn't built properly, worth telling the owners of the course.

Looked ok to me... its just a wooden cross pole with a pole on top of the cross... didnt really get his leg "stuck" more like he put it through the gap between the cross and the top pole.... so cant see what was wrong with the fence exactly? i might be wrong of course maybe you arent supposed to have fences like that...? what do you think??

Cant see tjat there was anything wrong with your fence, jumped hundreds like it with no horrid outcome

Yep thats what I thought... dont see how it could be built any different... just unlucky i think...
