OMG... the fattest pony I have ever seen

I come off a yard absolutely full of obese ponies (not mine I hasten to add) but even by those standards he is really blooming fat. Someone should let WHW know. Just as cruel as emaciation IMO.

A big field of grass and plenty of extra build up food I would guess. I'm surprised it's not rocking with lammi to be honest!

I have seen a working hunter/flat ridden show pony that was fatter :X The poor begger could hardly breath in walk let alone trot, canter and jump!

OMG !! He looks like he has been put into one of those apps you can get that shows what you would look like if you were morbidly obese! I am not suprised he hasnt covered any mares - he probably wouldnt be able to get up there and if he did would prob have heart attack or do some small mare an injury !!!!!

Gobsmacked.

He is gorgeous... but he needs to go on a serious diet. How the heck did he get so fat as a three year old!

He was entered at Llanybydder last Thursday, no idea what he made, but that will be a good profit for someone if they get that for him....also i notice the sellers dont show you his face, hes got the weirdest facial markings ive seen on a pony. & yes hes is very chubby, though if they have only just bought him you cant really blame them for his weight.

Is it me, or is his stance a bit suspect in a couple of those pics? Could be just a moment in time, but you do wonder if he's borderline laminitic already. I've seen worse too, but that doesn't make it ok.

First thought: Jesus, he's fat.

Second thought: Over at the knee.

Third thought: A lot of money for a pony that doesn't sound like it's actually been backed? Lots of 'lead rein potential' but doesn't sound like anyone's sat on him yet!

& alot of money they probably only paid £100 for less than a week ago....

The pony looks like it can barely stand properly let alone carry a rider! I hope somebody responsible decides to put him on a diet before he becomes unwell.

poor poor little pony! That is horrendous :(
There are several seriously obese horses on my yard too, some dealing with the issue, others quite happy to stick a full roll of hay in their paddock! I dont get why people do it?

Disgusting - Laminitis waiting to happen. I shall tell you why he's been allowed to get that fat, in one word SHOWING  That sort of "condition" (obesity) is favoured by twonkey old welsh pony judges.

Personally I wouldn't buy the pony, I think it looks awful.

I've seen plenty as fat, thankfully all I remember in the past year are now slimmed down to the correct weight.

I think whoever has placed this add is off their trolly! 1250 for a little pony not even backed.
Reality is up my way, 1250 would buy you a backed pony that size that can pop round a course of 75cm and do a wee dressage test, and it would be a pretty horse, and fit to be around wee kids.

Perhaps when they "produce" the pony themselves they will put him on a diet ;)

I used to show and still know plenty of people who do and I haven't ever, and nor have they, had a pony that fat. Whilst show ponies can be disgustingly porky (I'm the first to admit and I'd never have my horses as fat as our ponies were back in the day) this is something else entirely. I do hope he gets to weight watchers before he has a serious lami attack :(

Sadly have to agree with comments that this obesity finds a lot of favour with show judges in our neck of the woods, hence you see a lot of welsh ponies and cobs carrying far far too much weight. I know of a Sec B who is so fat she has wither fat, crest fat and her back is like an absolute sofa. I once watch her virtually cast whilst rolling...in the field...she is frequently rugged too and not trimmed enough either....disaster waiting to happen, just like this poor chap. She of course, won 7 classes in our local show.....:(
World's gone mad

ive seen worse saddly.... this chap is for sale on faceboook...

I think alot is to do with his type really, sec a's are notoriously difficult to weight control. I know a morning on grass and my little fella looks like he's been on the cheese burgers for a week!
