Omg. This is utterly insane.

We'd love to have one suitable to train for it! its like a cross between the grand national and a real good banks race!
 
It's sort of like hunting x grand national x badminton lol....

Looks a fun course to just go for a play around on though!!! ;)


ETA - just rewatched it and 3/4 way through there's a horse which falls, scrambles and then managed to right itself and both rider and horse just carry on galloping again!!! Crazy [and lucky!] lol.

Lol yes to play on! But, apart from these people, who would atually put real race horses around a course which has many solid fences and doubles?!

Bit mad to me galloping a double at race horse speed :S But this course for hunting! Let me go find a horse :P

Opps, forgot to say, what a LONG way to go around!
 
Oh I know, it's insane, as the title says lol. But they all are v.v.nice hedges and fences to jump!

I have a new found hedge obsession....I've vanquished my fear of them and now desperately need to make up for the years of not jumping them hahaha!!
 
Crazyyyy lol i seen one were they actually have to swim through water near the end!! Cant remember what its called though.

Ps i just realised i look like a Binky stalker :eek: :p
 
OMG can't believe you just posted this. I was chatting today with someone who was there and she said if is totally unbelievable, solid stone wall, huge wide ditches, 5 miles long, crazy, crazy people!!
 
I would love to have a go at some of those jumps ... but maybe not at that speed.... or with that many horses around me... or with stirrup leathers that short... or with people watching...or without a back protector!!!!!
 
It's actually pretty obvious where to go, but apparently there were incidents of going the wrong way :D

ETS If you have a look at past winners, there are some impressive names... the likes of Furioso and Landgraf for starters :)

I have never seen that race before! Christ, I would give my right arm to be one of those jockey and ride that race - although it would be tricky with one arm!! :p

But, agree with above - I was willing that horse to win too :D

I bet those horses loved every minute of that!
 
Well that's a 10 minute race compared to a whole days hunting isn't it now? Plus it's damn impressive :D The National used to be bigger and longer than that; I think it's still longer. Also Steeple chasing derived from wealthy people racing eachother between tall landmarks, mostly church steeples (I think, someone put me right if I'm wrong) and imagine what they'd ask of their horses. It's probably some consolation to you that they're not jumping barbed wire on a stick.

C'mon Jam, thought you'd be a bit more game for this?
