Seriously on cloud 9.... am NOT a confident rider when it comes to jumping.
Brief background gave up 12 yrs ago due to a very bad fall, took on a 4 yr old last year and its been a heck of a journey. Unfortunatly had a pretty bad fall off her last year which knocked my confidence over fences.... now we have jumped since then but under instruction - very rarely when Im just riding myself....
Myself & my fab instructor put plan in place couple mths ago , she now schools her once a week & a very very experienced rider jumps her once a week...
Took on a fab 8yo couple of mths ago who is a seriously non complicated Show Jumper as a confidence giver over fences & thinking its worked...
Now I have a bit of a wrist injury at moment wont go into it but it will need surgery But its not causing massive discomfort so I have just kicked on with riding.
So up to yard today & my Mare to start with... OMG she did not put a foot wrong...... friend of mine had put up a grid & I asked if she wanted me to ride it to check striding!!! Eh think I must have had a knock to my head lol, Ive never ever been very forthcomming about jumping - over we went and must have done it about a dozen times - Not ONCE did I back off or make excuses not to do it. Now it wasnt HUGE by any means ( only 70 cms ) but jumps all the same.
Then we hacked down the road & she is normally afraid of getting left behind but as I was so relaxed she was too - lead horse was way ahead & she just plodded along in no hurry!
Dont know whats happened but it looks like Confidence is BACK!!!! am so utterly elated.
