thanks guys

had a good look at their website and realised the fences are no different to what we've done at Somerford and that we've jumped bigger so watch this space..........
ODE sounds tempting but I'm afraid our dressage leaves a lot to be desired at the moment

Tips

1. Dont fall off- it hurts and is embarassing!
2. Dont leave home without putting the horse in the box first.

Hope this helps

I know Gabby, did a lot of thinking last night and thought what the hell go for it, lifes too short
grin.gif
and Pidge can do everything fine I just need to convince myself and then we'll be fine

don't foget to load the dutch courage into the lorry - but don't take too much before the class or there will be two of every fence out there ;-)

You nutter!! You will be fine!! Once that adrenalin kicks in, you will fly round!

I've booked in to do the Broomhill hunter trials on sunday, but I really think its gonna be cancelled with this damn weather!

that's me

It does get pretty wet there whenever the weather is bad!

Any piccies of yours?

Do you have to plait for HT's?

Nope. Plaiting is only compulsary in dressage, to pay respects to the judge.

I did a mini HT on my first horse - Arab stallion with 2 gears, fast and stupidly fast. The mini HT was where I discovered that he also didn't have any brakes (or at least not with feeble numpty me on board).

Oh, and I didn't plait (didn't know how) so got my clumsy paws tangled up in long Arab mane halfway round, which really didn't help with the no-brakes situation.

Fortunately he loved jumping, so we got round - but elegant it was not! Got told off for going too fast. Huh! As though I had any say in the matter!

At this point I decided that I would stick to doing the nice undemanding happy-hacker stuff at home, and let a proper rider compete on him...
smile.gif

now that could be how we get round, fast as Pidge loves his jumping and with no brakes and certainly far from elegant
blush.gif
didn't realise you got penalised for going too fast!
My aim is to get round in one piece and if we do that I'll be chuffed to bits
grin.gif

yes I've looked and it reckons 40 mins from here in car so will leave a good hour to get there, lets hope we're not on too early

Eland Lodge looks great, wish we could come but think is a bit far! Well done you on going for it! Are you doing a pairs class as well? OH and I have just booked in for a tiny pairs HT & think there may be some arguments on the day about who goes first (he likes to lead but Marco has a bit of a run out in him so prob best if I go first!)
grin.gif
!

not this time but there is a HT at Ranton in September where we're both doing the mini class and then as we are being brave or should that be foolish we are doing the pairs 2'6"
crazy.gif
based on the fact that we can go round together and choose who goes first depending on what the jump is.
When are you doing your mini HT pairs and where? We expect a full report and photos of course
