OMG when is the rain going to stop

I posted b4 about being fed up with my horse not being able to be turned out due to the weather. But the poor horses now are really going crazy. The only exercise my horse is getting is being lunged and he just charges of bucking, rearing etc, but now its getting dangerous as he starts doing this b4 he's even got away from me. And then today one of the girl's was riding her pony in the school and he just did a rodeo impression if asked to go any faster than walk. Suddenly I heard an almighty crash and basically he had stuck his head so low down whilst bucking that he couldn't see where he was going and crashed straight into the fence

luckily no one was hurt, but our YO is still more worried about the winter fields getting trashed than our safety.

I no...it is dreadful but even if the rain stops tomorrow it will take a week of sun and wind to start drying the land out. we can only hope for some frost really.
I try not to grumble too much because I rent a field and can do what I like with it, so my horse is out every day whatever the weather or land conditions. But he is eating grass through a layer of water at the moment.
Is there no way you could turn them into a small paddock or school to let some steam off for an hour? Perhaps if you all get together to approach the YO about the problem?
It really is daft this concern for fields...I have seem the worst possible trashing from horses where half an acre was churned as if it had been ploughed...stuck some seed down and it was all grown back by summer no problem. It is a shame when the horses loose out to idealised paddocks like you say.
 
The thing is he's a farmer, but never makes an effort to do anything with the fields. Its so annoying, but there aren't loads of yards in the area that allow all year turnout, so you end up having to like it or lump it. However I am seriously trying to find a piece of land to purchase so my horses can then live out like they should do.
 
it's not been too bad here (central scotland) yesterday was dry and sunny, but from about 5am today its been chucking it down!! Woke me up it was so wild outside!

Looks like its about 4pm looking out the window its so dark!

Thankfully I dont have the turn out problem as we have all year round turn out at the yard I'm on. Not that B would go mad without turn out, he'd just get grumpy and stiff!

Hope the weather calms soon for you so you can get your horse back in the field!
