Good to see things like this getting some media coverage! Might make otherS realise that driving like an idiot around horses (albeit this is an extreme case) is not on!
 
At last - a prison sentence. Sympathies to the horse and rider but well done to her for pursuing it and the police for actually dealing with it appropriately.

What scum :mad:! Some of the comments below the article really wound me up to.

I have no sympathy for the man, the fact that it says about him crying and having 5 kids? Is this supposed to make me feel bad for him or think he regrets his actions? Surely anyone with 5 children should be responsible enough to think about their actions and if he does regret his actions its only due to the fact he now cant drop his soap in the shower!

Without intending to outrage all the sentimental horse lovers I`ll try again.
Resolved that Horse Riding be banned from British roads.
Country roads in U.K.are winding,hilly and do not offer safe conditions for vehicles and horses.Visibility,dust,ditches are all factors.Horses are nervous skittish heavy animals
usually brownish nature coloured.Riders may be very young inexperienced and often
entitled.Britain is an overcrowded,rainy,foggy place with too many cars and too few roads.
Taxpayers and drivers pay for roads,horse riders do not.Ban horse riders from roads
at least make them wear bright multi-coloured blankets and have riders dismount until the horse can be walked quickly to a fenced field. Come on Britain join the 21st Century.Horse
Riding practices on roads is a throwback to Aristocrats and Gentry from 100 years ago when there were not many vehicles on roads.Who`s kidding whom here?


Oh yeah tax payers and road users? Do they think people who keep horses do not have an income and therefore pay tax? How do they think we get to our horses? Using those reliable public transport areas in rural areas? GRRRR.

I hate going on the roads! Do they not realise we have little choice?! Apparently not.
