Joe and I successfully completed our first ever 160km (100 mile) endurance ride at the weekend. Total riding time was 16 hours and 45 minutes so we are not exactly FEI material ;), but by completing we have qualified for the Tom Quilty Gold Cup which is Australia's premier 160km ride and which just happens to be being held in Western Australia where we live, this year. More to the point, it is being held in a town about 40 minutes drive from me, which by WA standards is basically next door. Too good a chance to miss.
I am as stiff as a board at the moment, but Joe has pulled up looking great, so he gets a month off now before getting back into it ready for (hopefully) a start at Wagin at midnight on the 3rd of October.

Wow, that's seriously impressive, well done! I lived in WA for a bit and agree, 40km is next door!

It must still get pretty warm by the time you finish too :)
