was reading rubygold's post earlier, good on you for seeking further advice!! but what is the most wrongest thing you have done as a horse owner? (we have all made mistakes!)

i remember donkeys years ago when i had my grey mare i didn't even think of sun burn. i thought it was just some scab so i put vasiline on it........ hot sun and vasiline do not mix!! my mum was very angry!!- another time i used to think my pony was coming in from the field 'on the bit' but turned out he had his lower jaw caught in rug hence giving the impression he was on the bit!!!

Trying to turn friend's youngster our in a stable rug (it was winter and cold and raining). Most embarassed

taking a short cut over the fence into my horses field, getting caught in the fence, tripping and ending up splat, face down in a muck heap - luckily no one around to see it

either that or getting asked at a show why my pony had a big glittery gold hair band in, and having to explain that i ran out of plaiting bands and ribbons and that was the next best thing

i may have accidently left the feed door open at my yard once and was in the middle of mounting (from a block as he was 17.1hh and I'm only 5ft 6!), the next thing I know I was on the floor being dragged by one stirrup into the feed store! It could have been a lot worse but it was my stupid fault for forgetting horse's have one track minds! I saw the amusing side later on and my horse got a good few mouthfuls of cool mix!
