And for once not rolling off the black beast :D.

So into another weekend, another venue and another two tests!
They had retreated back indoors at Bold Heath so we had slight return of spooky Topaz but she did pull her socks up for some nice work, which is as ever such a lovely improvement. It really seems to be sticking that I can tell her its ok and she's starting to really trust me and say ok which is fab :). Plus we nailed the halt in E42 we can stand still at least ;).

First test was a little onward bound at times but she kept a lid on the spooking mostly, it just felt a little bit gung-ho. She seemed much more settled for the second, though we did fall out of canter in E53 when she spooked in the corner :o Topaz cannot spook, control all legs and carry on cantering ;).

So super pleased with 66.72% and 66.76% to win both restricted sections and I think we're all qualified for Winters now, :D:D:D!

On my own as ever so only a quick snap at the box inbetween tests:

She's now had her shoes off and will have a mini-break from competing, though will have to see what my instructor thinks when she goes for bootcamp next month.

I then had a play with my uncle's camera before my trip to NZ, so thought I'd share, the horse's did get a little bored with me though :o.

In other news Skylla is now on a break till around Christmas time, but had a quick tottle round the other evening, though she's as good at posing as Topaz :D.

Fab results, well done!! I dream of getting to elementary and getting those sorts of marks one day...

Great photos too. I like the one where the sun is shining out of Topaz's a*** ;-)

Well done - great scores - fantastic :)

The pictures are stunning - I especially like the eye shots - very professional :)

Thank you we've had two solid runs out now so feel we may have turned the corner, though I think we may have got our warmup just right now so that also helps!

Fancy pants camera does a lot for a good picture doesn't it! Quite impressed how simple it was to use, though not tried a moving shot yet :D.

I say this a lot, if we can you can!
Bahaha hadn't spotted that connection but no unseeing it now :D, at the moment it's quite apt ;).

You will def get there, look at how fast you've improved already! We've had Topaz six years and I'm only just feeling I almost know how to ride her :D.

Woo-hoo! Go the little black bouncing bombshell!

Do you think that subconsciously you have given yourself a kick after that horrid judges comments? I only ask as if someone says that I can't do something I tend to think right, I blooming well will now! I'm getting to be a stubborn old mule as I get older, ha!

Whatever you have changed its obviously worked. So happy for you and blooming well done! :)

Haha you know stranger things have happened!
I think it's a bit two/three fold really. Firstly I think we 'have' our warmup, very very simple, short mooch on a long rein to stretch, straight into a contact and very boring walk-trot and canter-trot transitions. Nothing more than saying stay on the aids and do that, it seems to settle her as its things she can do in her sleep so is confidence building for her.
Second we made a step back to novice ( and E42 is a very simple elementary) to again build that confidence up.
Thirdly I am just bloody minded and will very much not be told I can't do something ;). But also I do think positivity breeds positivity so once you see that glimmer of hope it's easier to keep going in that direction.

We will still keep pushing her comfort zones, but will be conscious to keep popping back to what feels so easy she can do it on three legs, with her eyes shut :D.
