I tod my friend about this website place we call a forum and told her how useful the advice is on here, so she has asked me to post some piccies of her new horse, and ask for some general advice and opinions on his conformation and how to get a bit more topline on him.
He is just five, so still has to grow into those gangly legs, he stands at about 17.1hh.

Oh he's lovely! I think he looks in great condition for such a big baby and would suggest topline will come as his work increases. He's quite compact and with those long legs i'd get her to watch he doesn't overeach when he starts tracking up properly and he's still quite weak.

He's lovely!!

He's the sort of horse that you dont want to do *too* much long and low with as this will push him onto his forehand. Better to work him a bit more up and then stretch him forward with the nose when he is warmed up.

Lots of easy lateral work- shallow shoulder ins and quarters in will help keep him laterally supple and should help him to engage his hindlegs and push himself up.

He's a super sort, he has a few conformational issues such as upright pasterns and shoulders which would restrict hs suitability for top level dressage but he looks a real athlete- I'd event him!!

He looks very nice, just needs some lightish work I'd say and give him chance to bulk out and build some muscle. Nice look about him though.
