mine are washed and packed away each year.
Ive got too many rugs at the minute - wouldve thought about 20 per horse so ive got 3 metal bins 3ftx4ftx4ft full of them

I have some in boxes, some on top of boxes, and the 7 or 8 that I'm using are draped over various parts of his stable. But come summer they should all be stored away on boxes. Don't wash them though.

Mucky and or in use ones in a huge pile on top of the saddles (he's retired now) others are cleaned and in the bags they came back from the cleaners in , neatly piled up in my loft. As the weather improves the clean pile should grow and the mucky one dissapear, I hope.

The ones that are in regular use are hanging up in the stables over the partitions. The other 20 odd rugs are all kept in large plastic boxes bought from a cheap home accessory shop and there fab! Some are in my room, some are in the tackroom, some are in a caravan! I have rugs everywhere!

I only tend to clean stable rugs and smaller rugs I can wash myself. The stable rugs are sent off at the end of winter to be done.

during the summer they are all washed and stored in the garage in the bags they come back in.
In the winter the progressively end up hanging over the stables!

washed and packed away in old school trunks! Also have a rug hanger for the t/o rugs or which ever rug is not being worn...unless they are really wet and horrid, then I drape them over other halfs landie to dry.....te he, he loves that!!!

I have mine all cleaned and ready for the following winter. They are all individually packed and placed in 2 massive wooden storage boxes, which are 6ft X 5ft X 3ft. The boxes are sealed over the summer months to stop critters getting in.

I have about 10 hanging in the stable/draped over the centre partition and then all the others are either stacked in my tack shed, lingering at the back of the hay shed, abandoned in the garage or festering in the conservatory. My dad uses 2 of them to keep his motorbike dry

hmmm rugs. Well, we have loads (obviously, having 15 horses!
At the moment, we have two shelving racks in the cupboard full of rugs, mostly summer and stable rugs, plus a magnetic one and a few fleeces and coolers.
In the stables are about 3 turnouts in each, hung up on a line. When neds are in, their rugs are hung also.
We do try and wash the winter ones and put away, so they will be in cupboard.
They used to be stored in the indoor stables, but there are so many!
