Okey, well Sparky generally likes to be on the forehand and today it felt like he was a lot better and i was wondering if you think the same as i am obvi biased. So is my work working?

comments and crit welcome but i would like to know any more tips on helping me lift him

He looks lovely, I would just try to look up more and lean back slightly and maybe try lots of transitions to lighten him infront, but you ride him very nicely

Very hard to tell from photos, but it looks as tho he isn't tracking up, so needs to be using his back end more. Transition exercises would help with that, and acute upwards transitions are usefull too. Get him working through transitions in quick sucession, on thing I see is 4 transitions in a circuit, I try to do a transition every few seconds to improve impulsion. Again hard to tell from photos, but he looks a little over bent, so I would be encouraging him to streach out a little relax through the ehad and neck - thinking about bringing him into the bridle from the back end. I guess you can't get your stirrups much longer, because you look tall on him, but try not to let this tip your weight forwards. Keep perservering tho, you will get there!

He is just GORGEOUS!!! He looks the spitting image of my old pony from back in the day.....I've just had a look through the other piccies you've got on photobucket as well and he looks like a little star

Your ride him really nicely as well.

My girl also falls onto her forehand - we do tons (and i mean tons) of up/down and down/up transitions along with half halts within the paces.
I would suggest that you drop your stirrups significantly longer and try to sit up more as like me, you seem to tip forward a little. Lifting your hands may help too.
Good luck - you ride nicely.

Thanx guys, yes i do tip forward and it is a habit that i am finding hard to rectify - but i am trying and sure i will get there. I always thought he was quite good at tracking up but in the 1st i dont think he is
I will take the comments on board
