Typical luck... I recently accepted a new flat in Loughton, Essex to be closer to my current livery yard in Chigwell, but have received the news they are closing down as of Feb 2026.

Not many yards offer overnight turnout during the summer unless I drive 25-30 mins.

Does anyone know of anywhere within 15-20 mins of Loughton with summer overnight turnout and of course restricted in the winter? DIY assisted but may also consider 5 day livery.

With a school/lights. Ideally straw bedding.

Has anyone been in this position before? Do I wait it out for a few months or do I find somewhere immediately and go? With the move and a busy life schedule I don't know what's best! xx

Sorry I can't help with specific yards but personally I would look to go sooner. If there are many liveries at your current yard they might all be looking at the same time so there would be competition! And as things are you have a few months to find somewhere, but when you do, move as soon as possible so that you don't have to worry any more about it.

I guess that's the most sensible thing it's just so annoying this happened to me 2.5 years ago where I moved house, jobs and yards all at the same time. Think you're at peace and then BAM all upside down again lol.

I left about 10 years ago now, moved 120 miles away.

I liveried in Epping, at Shaftesbury Farm. Was very happy there, but they always had a long waiting list. 24/7 turnout in summer, in overnight in winter. It was a DIY yard, but did have a freelance groom.

Might be worth a look.
