Ive just finished reading one dog at a time by Penn farthing. It about the stay dogs in afganistan. Its a really moving book and if you have not done so already I would urge you to read it and if possble make a donation to Nozward dogs the charity set up to help the animals of Afganistan and Iraq. They really need our help.

It really is a moving book. its the true stoy of how a soldier serving in afganistan helps the stray dogs he came across, he managed to bring back two to the uk and has set up the charity to help other animals over there.

I love these stories of hope but I'm a wuss and couldn't bring myself to read it. Ever since that story of the american soldier who hurled a tiny puppy to its death over a cliff i've avoided any reading of such stories.

I'm not naive I know these things go on and for whatever reasons but I just don't want to read about them. Its too haunting.

An HHO donation would be fine though. Is there a link.

Dont know if the link will work, but thats the website.
I know what you mean about storys haunting you but although it is a moving book it does give you hope that there are people that care and go out of their way to help even when it seems hopeless.

Absolutely agree, thank god there are people like Pen who do something to help. The donating link doesn't work for me but there's an address so i will send something in honor of my rescue girl.
