One dog per household

So, if government introduced a new law that you could only have one dog per household, what would you have?

Note; this is assuming all your current dogs have passed on and you are choosing a new dog.

I don't want to encourage indiscriminate breeding but I'd like the same again, springer x pointer. If I had to choose between the two I think I'd choose the Pointer.

I'd probably go for a German shepherd, which is what we've always had. However, I do have a soft spot for sight hounds.

A Scottish deerhound my favourite breed , if I’m only allowed one it might as well be big as iwill have enough room in my car to take on holiday (or the vets)

I don’t like having just one dog. For 50 years now we have had mostly two dogs, and sometimes (like now) three. But as we are getting older now, we have decided not to have any more, so eventually we will be down to one for a few years in our dotage. She is a beagle.
