What ever dog I have hopefully it won’t arrive during a countrywide lockdown and miss the vital socialisation window.

Currently have Border Terriers but would like to try something else but not sure what. Same size, very cuddly, active but not over active.

Swap it for a cat? Way less trouble 😂😂

In all honesty whatever turned up at work with the saddest story if left to my own devices. (Without someone else to act as the voice of reason I 100% would have tried to adopt a very traumatised Husky type that came in as an abuse case at work a while ago… was in the gap between cats so it really was a while ago but he was in such bad shape he was with us for a month before he was fit to leave. Went from threatening violence to anyone who looked at him (not his fault- humans had been vile to him) to seeking cuddles (& chicken!) from anyone he recognised (was still wary of anyone he didn’t) In theory if Id been in a situation where nobody else would have been handling him day to day it might have worked but he was definitely not suitable to live alongside my non reading of dog behaviour rest of family and would probably have bitten someone for doing something idiotic)IMG_2156.jpeg

Edited because I found a photo of the ferret-faced creature! Utterly unsuitable but you can’t always choose which ones get to you. Doubt he’s still alive now as apparently was 2018 and he wasn’t that young then. I hope he had a nice rest of life

So, if government introduced a new law that you could only have one dog per household, what would you have?

Note; this is assuming all your current dogs have passed on and you are choosing a new dog.
A whippet! I have always had terriers or spaniels but I just love whippets so that would be my choice!

My OH would choose a border collie but I guess he’d be exempt from only one dog as he needs multiple working dogs to do his job. So, in the hypothetical scenario would it mean I couldn’t have a dog if he had working dogs? 😱😱😱. That would definitely be grounds for divorce!
Or you could just become a dog handler?

Hmm. I really like my easy Poms but if I only had 1 I’d probably have a ‘proper’ dog. Probably another spaniel. Or I could be tempted by a Belgian Shepard of sorts that’s not a Mali. Probably… or maybe a Pap… but then my Boston is the best work friend…
