My mini shettie sold today, snowball (thats what he was called when i got him) went to the first person who came to see him. They fell in love with him and said hes exactly what they were looking for.

Their wee 3 year old rode him around and afterwards said "Ohhh mummy hes mine" lol.

She told me that they went to see a good few small ponies but alot were biters or werent right for her riding skills. Snowball is a plod and loves children. He wouldnt leave her alone, he followed her like a dog.

I put him in for £350, hes 9 now and they didnt even haggle with the price. So come friday hes going, they even gave me £15, said it would cover him for his final week hes with me.

It was really hard for me but seeing the joy in the wee girls face made me see that its worthwhile, great thing is that he isnt going too far.

The wee girl has been rejected for lessons from their local riding stable as shes too young. The lady already has a horse that the girl is riding but she wanted something smaller for her.

I know the mother from helping out at the RDA a while ago.

He seemed to shine to them as much as they took a shine to him. Hes definitely not a biter which cheered them up loads.

OH says think of the money, he needs a slap lol.

Yeah cause with me hes really just a big pet lol, the mother had a go on him, she said that he is just too adorable. Ive been told i can see him anytime i want, which i think is nice of them. Also she offered to ride any of my lot that i need rode, which i think is lovely.

I really feel assured that hes going to a good home, have been invited to come up anytime during the week to see the yard. God i hoping selling the others will be as easy.

Well that just sounds like the best you could hope for when selling a pony. This must be so hard for you but i hope you find the others homes that are just as nice.

Im really going to miss him but i keep thinking of that wee girl, she sat on a crate beside him and was talking away to him. Asked him if he liked apples and carrots lol.

Deep down i know they are going to give him a better home than i gave him. Hes going to have a wee girl thats going to treat him like i treat mae

Pat yourself on the back for letting him go, now he has his own special 'small' person all to himself, i'm sure these lil ponies thrive when they have their own people..

And just think your little shetland is now going to convert another youngster to riding - which is just what is needed. The more young people who love it the better

Awww bless. I know its sad but just think of all the joy he will bring to that little girl. He will be fussd and loved by her just as much as he was by you, and its lovely that they are not far away and you can visit and keep an eye o him.
