You're very welcome both, I've currently got a part-bred 16hh Connemara mare who has started eventing and a 14.3hh Connie x Welsh gelding that I hunted all last season so I'm a huge fan myself

I love connies too! My yo is a huge fan, she purchased a four year old about six weeks ago, halter broken but otherwise unhandled. This mare went out and jumped double clear last week at 1 ft 6 and came fifth... Her first ever show. Connies are so bloody good!

well this explains where my mare gets her 30mph trot from!

In fact the more I watch the more it explains about my mare! always thought it was the tb in her that made her the way she is but now I think shes just like an oversize connie!

I have visited Clifden show many years ago, another world! Streets jam packed, horses arriving in all manner of trailers and all owners with an obvious pride in their ponies. A real eye opener!
My lad is an Irish connie and his Dad was a Clifden winner some years ago.
