Horses are so addictive....you can never have enough!!

However,

at the minute, i have two beautiful, bloody fantastic horses. I couldnt be happpier with my boy, and my mare is just my angel.

However, i cant decide whether to keep both of them, or just concentate on one of them. Do you think that you can have two, a full time job etc and do them both justice?

My life is dedicated to my horses. Theyre all i do at the weekends/evenings/holidays, but both are high maintenence, money gobbling types and i dont want to have to give one up, but im wondering whether it might be better for them?? Two horses with a good life, or one horse with a fantastic life....

My boy is my superstar. We have our first ODE next week, that weve training for and its really amazing as weve come so far together and he came to me as a lice ridden hat-rack and now is a stunning eventer. My mare ive had since she was a youngster, is out of work at the minute but im slowly bringing her back in. Out of the two, i couldnt part with her. Id rather live in a tent and sell the house. But i wont ever be able to compete her due to her injuries.(competeing isnt huge to me, its just a bonus)

So here is my question to you....two or one??? *pulls hair out at thought of parting with superstar horse but loves the idea of spoiling the mare rotten and spending all my time on her*

I would also say two as I have two and couldn't get rid of either. Plus they're stabled at home and neither of mine would cope on their own!

If you can manage as you seem to be doing well at the moment, I'd say two!

But only you really know how much you can handle.

I know, great advice, right? haha

Keep both, but if you still want to compete, rough one off while you ride the other, so both get six months work but you are only working one at a time, and this will cut all the bills like feed and farrier in half.
Maybe you could find a young rider to help you with the costs, [if both are inside in the winter], do all the work at the weekend so you can take time off.
