I adopted two new kittens four weeks ago to keep Margo company. she is gradually coming round to the idea!!!. Beau and Benson are now 18 weeks old. this morning benson suddenly appeared limping. he and beau had been playing upstairs early this morning i took all three cats downstairs and was in the process of feeding them. fed margo on the side in the kitchen and had plated up food for the boys - took it into the dining room as normal beau followed and benson who had been siting in the kitchen on the floor followed limping. he had been find two seconds earlier. rang the vets, took him in the x-rayed him - he has broken a metatarsal bone in his left fore leg. aiming to operate - wondering what other people have done. fortunately unlike with jerry they are insured - ideas about cost?

Oh no sorry to hear. I expect it was a hairline fracture from an incident before and it suddenly gave.
I hope he's alright x

This link said its a fairly common injury and the prognosis is good, which is great news.

thank you i have borrowed a dog cage from a friend and he seems quite happy - although he did manage to escape briefly this afternoon - small cats and holes - hopefully he will stay put. his brother can't understand why he can't play!!! the referral vet rang but i missed the call this late this afternoon and are not now available until monday morning. so will have to ring then. spoke to insurance company and they seem cool with everything - we will have to wait and see but i can't see why they won't pay - it was clearly an accident
