One of OHs pups died

Not long home from OHs house, his lab bitch was due on Friday and has gone a couple of days early. He checked her just after I left and has text me to say the first pup was dead

so far the second is ok, and I hope to goodness the rest will be.

His other lab bitch had an horrendous time with her first and only litter, and had to be spayed after so lost her second, and he lost his springer bitch 2yrs ago after she picked up poison.

If anything happens to this dog I don't know what I'll do!

Oh thankyou! He loves all his dogs dearly but this one is special, she is such a one-man dog and never leaves his side, even if she's in the house she sits and gazes at him all night!
The first bitch (this one's mother) lost one of her pups too, hopefully the rest are ok.

Jonna also decided to deliver her puppies a few days early, first came bottom first but I hardly had time to panic about it getting stuck before all of Beata came out, then when number two came, she also had her bottom first and I thought that if all went well the first time, this one will probably not be as easy but Blomma just came straight out too. Though the birth ended well, it probably shortened my life with a few years.

Fingers crossed all goes well with the mother and her other puppies.

Fingers crossed everything is okay. Probably too late now as hopefully she has finished but presume he knows not to leave her for more than 2 hours between pups. And if pups are reluctant to get going a really vigorous rub with a towel, whilst holding upside down, can help kick start them.

Hi everyone, thanks for the vibes. Unfortunately 2 pups out of 7 didn't make it for whatever reason. The five that are ok seem to be doing well and the bitch is fine which was the main thing.

OHs sister breeds toy poodles and knows what she is doing regarding birthing, so I know if anything could have been done to help them, it would have been.

She started about midnight, OH got to bed at 9am, so they didn't leave her at all.

I'm just so relieved the bitch is ok and the pups that remain are ok. Just such a shame the other 2 didn't make it, and it's sods law they were the biggest 2 of the lot.

Same as the litter my two were from (Five survived from seven) and B was the first not to die - still been through the mill since day one though
