My new girl (TB x ) is fully clipped and due to repairs on my stable roof taking longer than planned she is having to live out atm with my other two horses.
I have a heavy weight turn out with a neck, two medium weight turn outs with necks, a light and a medium stable rug both with necks that fit her. (& some fleeces)
My question is, which combination of the above rugs is going to keep her warmest? She is currently in a medium weight durin the day and the HW at night, but she has dropped a bit of weight? Nothing to panic about, but I don't want her any leaner going into the colder weather.
Will layering a LW stable rug under her HW turn out at night make much of a difference? Can you layer a TO rug with another TO rug on top?
