Ever have one of those days when you wonder why you bother with horses???
Went up for my lesson this morning to find my horsey turned out in the field... with her stable rug on
YOs husband was on auto-pilot this morning and hadn't noticed the IN sign on her door, or the rug.
Thankfully she hadn't rolled, and I trudged through the swamp to the horses, who all then galloped past me back up the field.
I got a reluctant Megan in eventually and got ready for my lesson, and wish I hadn't bothered!
She was backward, nappy, ignoring my leg, and squealing when made to canter, so in the end we gave up trying to work her properly, and sent her galloping round the school... just like this time last year
I know half the problem is me, as I'm sub-consciously putting her handbrake on as soon as she starts taking me forward. RI even commented on my white face when she started Meg off galloping
It's silly as I know Meg won't bolt or buck, or do anything like my old (and crazy) horses used to throw at me as it's far too much effort for her, but I still don't seem able to trust her 100%.
Feel free to give me a kick up my backside to help me get over my mental block
