Anyone else having one of those days/weeks/months where it just seems like nothing is going in your favour?

Seems like since the start of winter it has been just one thing after another. If my horse isn't injured and on field rest and slow hacking, I'M injured and off work (and of course riding  )

Starting to feel like I'm stuck in a rut I can't mentally get myself out of!

What's everyone doing to cheer themselves up and not get too down?

(((hug))))

It's the worse bit of the year in some ways. Everyone gets into a bit of a post-party-broke rut after Christmas and the winter's feeling very long. I caught a virus around NYE and still haven't fully recovered.

On the positive side, spring is coming! It was dark at 4pm until recently. Last night I came home from the yard a 5pm and it wasn't (quite) dark yet. We can count the length of time before summer turnout in weeks instead of months now. :)

I'm cheering myself up by planning with friends to get out in the evenings a bit over the next week or so. I haven't been out in the evening this year at all (okay, okay, I know the year's less than 3 weeks old ;)

Things will get better. :) Sometimes you reach a bit where you just have to grit your teeth and endure it til the good bits come along. :)

Bottle of wine, nice nibbles, DVD with a hunk (Taylor Lautner, Keanu Reeves, you fill in the rest...) and a lie in next day followed by brisk walk if you are fit enough or bit of tidying if not :)

I bought a bottle of port today....

I think we could get along...

I am taking solace from the fact that it isn't pitch black when I get to the yard now.. :P

Ended up watching some Channing films, which cheered me right up ;)

Thanks for the kind words..my favourite was port.
