he'll be going a week on tuesday to a lovely, lovely family!

They invited me into their home where I actually spent a lovely afternoon with them and their dog. They showed me all around, have a lovely secure garden and it's just a lovely place with lovely people...in fact, it's just lovely, lovely, lovely!!

They've been over three times already!! They've registered him with their vet and puppy had a check up, then they went to a pet store and spent over £100 (cringe) on a crate, bed, toys, collar and lead, ID tags, blankets, bowls, the works....

Oh to have that kind of money to spend on non-neccessities on a whim!!

They're coming to see him again on monday and again on friday for a little while, then the next time they come will be the following tuesday to take him to his new home

I'm absolutely thrilled as they're such a wonderful family, but it will be sad to see him go. They're taking Alby and are keeping his name

I turned one young couple away as there was just something about them I didn't like. They didn't seem to interact with the babies very well, and though I understand it can sometimes be awkward in front of others I just feel you either have it or you don't...I didn't feel comfortable with the idea of them taking one, so I said I'm sorry but I don't think it will work out. The man was a bit stroppy when I wouldn't let them go at 6 weeks, said jabs were overrated and from what he was saying I got the impression that baby would have spent 90% of the time shut in a crate, which was ok as 'they're used to it'

When I pointed out that they're bed was indeed in the crate but the door was kept open aside from 20 minutes per day when the floor was mopped and let to dry he said I was too soft

So glad you have found a lovely home and well done for spotting the eeejits! We have had a few people we have turned down for our pups for just a gut feeling. We still have one to find a home for but the right home will come I'm sure.
Good luck with the other two, I still think you are a saint!

Have just had to go back and read all the threads re the orphan puppies. You are an amazing woman to have taken this all on witho out the support of the owner (any update on her by the way?)
Huge round of applause and a pat on the back deserved.

Any pics?

Thats great news. Sounds like the perfect home. Good luck with the rest of them, I'm sure you will find equally nice homes for all

Good for you for really caring about where the puppies go. So many people just want the money. When I bought my British Bulldog the breeder had two horror stories,

A guy rang and said ' I just want two bitches, don't care what colour or markings' breeder scensing a puppy factory said they'd all been sold,

Secondly a woman rang saying ' I want a labrador' Breeder said ' well I have advertised Bulldogs and lady says ' well do they look like labradors'

She didn't get one either.

We have just homed our puppy no 5, its so heart wrenching, all of ours have gone to friends or some lovely homes, but everyday I am with the puppies I dont want them to go as I get more attached, I am already keeping 2 of the 8, which I know is mad, but I just cant bear to choose between the 2. There are some nice homes for puppies to go if breeders do their homework, nice to know you like me care about where your puppies go.
