Well this Sunday was certainly better than last!!!!

Zoes face is healing well... three stitches left of the six to be taken out tomorrow.. one dropped out tonight ...... civil case wheels in motion against the owner.....

And the girls shared Merlin in the Farnham Riders Club summer show today, and we came home with.....

Sophie got..

First... tack and turnout!!
First... Most handsome gelding!!
Fourth.. Horse like rider... sophie rode him all by herself in this class, and did really well.

Zoe got...

Third... Judges choice
Fourth.. Best mane and tail
Fifth.. Family pony

He was a beast for me.... wrong canter lead on one rein and then disunited on the other...... carted me all round the ring, hideously overbent and steaming round like a maniac.... Piebaldsparkle and Dozziesmum witnessed this horror, and said he was all up and no forwards

At this stage we were placed last

Zoe then got on for the individual show and he behaved like an angel....

correct canter leads and calm and easy to pull up... so she got moved up to fifth

I have decided that my showing days are well and truly over and that I will stick to the preparation in future

well done.

Brilliant well done girls. Naughty Merlin for his mum though, they do know who is riding them and if they should behave or not.

I think I must be tense and he picks up on it.... I tend to take a hold incase he goes off, but the girls are much lighter as he hasnt done this to them before...... I think he is biding his time
grin.gif

We got lots of comments on how he looked after them, which was really nice

Wondered how you got on! He is a stunning boy! I think if Dozzie (Not dozy!
wink.gif
) had not been so exhausted she would have fluttered her eyelashes at him!

Glad you had a good day. You did really well. I was pleased with my one rosette but you did really well! And werent they lovely rosettes! I bet your girls are really chuffed with them.

Thanks for letting me know about the show too!!!

No worries..... glad you liked the day. They always give lovely rosettes and make sure all the little ones get a rozzie too

The pride themselves on running a friendly enjoyable show, and I think they do well.... have been going for five years now

The win for handsome gelding was the best to be honest

Tack and turnout is good, but if you enjoy that bit its good anyway.

She has now qualified to go to the Sunshine Tours thingy??? Not really sure what it is to be honest
grin.gif

ps... after the wall of death display with me, sophie... the smaller girl, managed to ride him all by herself in her class..... no cantering though, but still good
grin.gif

Was lovely to meet up
smile.gif

My daughter always beats me now at shows
frown.gif

And although I am proud of her for doing so well, I also want to accidently lock her in the tack room just as I am leaving for a comp!!

Well done - both girls and Merlin look fab

Thankyou

He is a nice looking boy when poshed up..... in his natural state he is a bit of a scruffy bogbrush lookalike!!

Think this could be the case..... Piebaldsparkles girl was like a thing posessed when I rode her...... I must have electric seat bones....

But why oh why cant I switch them off
frown.gif

Thanks..... Its embarrassing isnt it.... especially when they rub it in too.... I was told today that I had been the cause of her being placed down the line..... tongue in cheek of course.... otherwise she would have needed more stitches!!!
