She is too lovely for words.

And is absolutely hilarious. I have no idea what the poor bucket ever did to her.

She’s been excellent about having her feet cleaned, and so easy to catch and handle. She leads nicely and will follow me around like a puppy in the field.

She also learnt to tolerate sunblock going on her nose - it took a few hours and I was absolutely covered in it by the time we were done but she’s been brilliant about it since.

Yesterday I turned out all three mares together for the first time. There was no drama whatsoever. There was a very sweet reunion between Mimosa and Milagra who have been separated for a week so that Mimosa could bond with Arizona. Ari just grazed.

Milagra actually really enjoyed her time apart from Mimosa and wanted to go back to her own field after a few hours ? poor old girl misses the peace and quiet!

Today I popped out at lunch time to get some space away from my desk and was met by this:

So we’ve had a great first week, and I’m so looking forward to the weekend.

So lovely…pics are just fab!
Her bucket antics are hilarious…her feigned-coy face proudly says ‘see, ill protect us all from the pink monsters’! ?

They look so cute together!

How did you manage the sunblock? I just use a uv nose flymask, Beau does not appreciate being smothered in factor 50!

Literally just sitting there for hours, letting her get curious about it, smudging it on her nose and then making a big fuss of her. She doesn’t like treats so scratches are rewards.

She then wiped it off all over my clothes, my hair, my face etc but I just waited until she decided she was interested in it again and reapplied.

She will now stand quite nicely although I still get sunblocky, sticky nose all over my clothes if I don’t move quickly enough ?

Eta, fly masks don’t last in this household. Mimosa knows how Velcro works and she likes freeing her friends.
