How would they do timed things like cross-country and jumpers, when everyone has different jumps and different size arenas and stuff?

I have not heard of on line XC! However there are plenty of actual showing classes and myself and a group of friends do on line Trec. Every thing judged via a you tube link. I can't see any reason why one couldn't do SJ Style classes, the RDA SJ qualifying classes are judged over 5 specific fences of specific height placed in a specific manner and sent in via You tube.

If you are talking about the on line trec, look at Trec riders club on fb, entries closed for this series. Also Alternative Equine club does several different disciplines on line, Western Trail is the one for the moment. Some of the hunts are running on line competitions to raise funds, see your local hunt's fb pages.
