Has anyone done any of these paid for online courses? I'm interesting in signing up for something, but I need to pick one - I know of TRT, OCRA and I remember seeing an advert for one on facebook which is really annoying me because I can't find it now! It might have been a more horsemanship based one and I think in the image there was a man doing spanish walk in hand with a black horse if anyone knows what that course is?!

I’ve got TRT and it’s very good. So much content I’ve not scratched the surface. I started using it to help my horse with behavioural issues (separation anxiety, panic behaviour).

Could it be Manolo Mendez? The guy doing in-hand with the back horse?
I’ve not done any online courses, but I have watched some YouTube vids and I like him.

What issues do you have and what would you like to achieve? I recommend all sorts of groundwork courses to my customers but it depends where you're at right now, and what you're looking to change :)

Manolo Mendez is awesome, but again, it depends what you want, how in depth you want to go etc.

Started having lessons with an academic riding instructor up until this year - a mix of in hand and ridden (I love the hand work and bringing it into ridden schooling) unfortunately, instructor moved out of area and I feel a bit adrift so I though the structure of a program might help with motivation and progression.

I would say Ritter Dressage - very direct instructions, ridden and in hand, Manolo Mendez, the all round horse man, but Celeste's is the one to get to the very bottom of equine biomechanics and start with the best foundations, all broken down into very easy steps, and embraced by all sorts of bodyworkers and rehabbers that I'm in touch with or work with.

Resurrecting this thread as I'm really interested in finding a course to help me work with the hairy tank. She worries a lot and I want to build our confidence together so that eventually I can ride her (she is rideable but too anxious to take out at the moment). I want to go back to basics and thought that following a sympathetic training course could help, as I've never done this before.

TRT looks good, but it's spendy. 😬 Any other suggestions?

TRT does the fist 7 days for free. The part you want for what you describe as your problem is the first groundwork videos which are in those 7 days. Everything else starts with those groundwork exercises and builds on it eg putting a difficult horse into a stable or out into a field.

Well worth the 7 days and see how it goes.
