Hubby’s Archie (working beardie x border collie) sired a litter (working beardie mother) and he’ll be getting one of these cuties in a week or so. The breeder hasn’t decided which he wants to keep yet so not sure which he’ll have to choose from. Allan’s favouring the white headed pup just from photos at moment. I always find white headed dogs look a little odd as pups but usually turn into good looking dogs as they mature. My choice would be the second one with a nice wide white blaze. There were 3 bitches, 4 dogs and OH is getting a bitch.

Second one for me. I don't mind white faces if they have black eyeliner otherwise no. My bitch is a mismark, black over one eye only but has black eyeliner on the white side. Husband would like her to be either both sides white or black, doesn't like the asymmetry despite adoring the dog. I have grown to really love it and would have another.

Is yours a working beardie? Would love to see a photo (naturally!)!?

Number one for me. I love a white face on a dog or a horse!
Why a bitch? I thought you both preferred dogs? Are you heading over to the girly side!? ?

What's the benefits of a working beardie X over a purebred collie?

All of the puppies are gorgeous but no.2 would be my pick

Sorry to disappoint, she is a working sheepdog though I suspect a dash of spaniel a very long way back. I do love the working beardies but couldn't live with the hair and the mud it brings in. Have already decided that any future dogs will be short haired like my young one, so much easier.

I think he’s thinking further down the line and possibly being able to start his own line of working beardies if she’s as good as her parents.

He has pure collies too but had working beards in the past and just fancied a change, especially as it seems to be getting more difficult to find a collie that isn’t overly sensitive and who can think for itself.

That's a real shame if that's the way the breeding of working border collies is going.

One of mums friends had a bearded when I was wee and he was the loveliest dog going. I've never seen a cross before but those pups look like wee stocky crackers

I like shorthaired dogs too. Thankfully the beardies and working sheepdogs live in kennels so don’t have to worry about them bringing half the hill in on their coats. My GSDs never get muddy or shed hair though so live inside ??

There will still be some really good collies around but OH was definitely happier with his dogs of the past than the majority he works with now. Quad bikes, fewer hill shepherds and the rise in the popularity of trialling are stated as some of the reasons for the decline in good hill dogs.

The pups are likely to be pretty hairy and beardie looking if their parents are anything to go by.

Number 2 or 3 for me, the top one looks like a cute guinea pig! I chose Bear for his white stripe, although his character was most important, obviously. I only looked at the ’properly marked‘ puppies, rejected an almost identical pup because it was a bitch.

Archie (also the name of Zak’s arch enemy bearded collie!!) looks like the puppet dog on the AA advert, no wonder puss cat reacts to it so strongly!

I also thought he looked like a guinea pig but it has to be number 2 for me .
