Ok, as some of you asked and I haven't put many up yet, here are pics of Enif, my little Andalusian colt (though he will only have his balls for less than a week!)

I know - just too delicious!! :D

very cute!
I love the one where hes holding his mums leadrope, looks like he can be cheeky :)

That's not his mum, it is his 'uncle' jack! He has kept his eye on the wee man to make sure he behaves and sometimes plays with him too (only when no-one is watching though!)

I have to say, though he doesn't have anyone his own age to play with, he loves playing with the big boys! :D

I am so, so proud of him. He is a fast learner and such a cutie!! <3

Yay!!!!!!! :D

What a handsome chap. :) As he's not got the tell-tale grey 'goggles', I'm guessing that he's going to stay bay?

No, he is going to go black - that is what his colour has been tested as. He started off a sort of caramel/chocolate colour and has started to get darker & darker.

honestly, his cute little perfect legs... his soft little schnoz... his fluffy ears!

:O I love him!!!! I am planning on getting an andalusian foal in a year or so, what stud did you get him from?

I got him from Star Andalusians, I think a few peeps on here have some from there. Sam was lovely and sent me pics and updates from the day I put my deposit down to the day she dropped him off.

The Big Man was less chuffed however and he bit him as he walked past his stable. Pretty embarrassing!

Aww! Thanks for all your lovely comments. He really is a wonderful little chap and a real credit to Sam who bred him.

In the short term I am going to continue teaching him to be a well mannered little lad, then long-reining and getting him out to parties and then longer term dressage superstar! :D

The Spanish hog all foals up until the age of 2. After that, it is grown on stallions & geldings & mares mares have their manes hogged as it prevents it from getting tangled. Their tails are kept above the hock and hogged about 1/3 of the way down to help keep it out of the way when getting they are put to stud.

I however am bucking the trend and growing it!! :D

Oh I have seen yours!! They do look similar, where's yours from?

Yes, he has settled really well, Spoon thinks Enif is a brother from another mother (!) and really likes him - I don't know what he thinks of her though he hasn't tried to eat him yet!!

Tassy is from Windberg Malamutes in Ironbridge Shropshire and Nanook is from Kaneq Malamutes in Warwaickshire.

He's stunning, what are the future plans? How did you decide on the stud- was it based on reputation/horses you'd seen- I only ask as I would love to import a horse (russian warmblood) but wouldnt know where to start!

Not related then!

I saw an article in Horse & Rider about the stud - gave her a ring, went to have a look and err... put a deposit down... oops!

Once he is backed, going to do dressage with him. I hope not to be too crap at it by then!

Beautiful!

We have an Andalusian 16month old staying on our yard at present. She's speckled black/grey but has been tested and will go bright grey (silver)

She is also hogged and has a trimmed tail. It's just the way they are presented.

They have amazing, flashy paces. A stunning breed... pricey though
