...who doesn't want to jump, dressage, hunt, show or drive.

I've looked through four websites worth of horse sale ads and found the following :D

Every horse over 4yrs in existance in Britian can jump/dressage/hunt/show or drive

Every foal 3 or under will SOMEDAY be able to jump/dressage/hunt/show or drive

Every foal has exceptional bloodlines

The rare exception to the jump/dressage/hunt/show/drive rule are mares who have pointed out to their owners that they would rather spend their entire lives raising babies (which, trust me, is a **** life because I'm doing it now!)

I can't understand how people on here say horses aren't selling all I can find is 14hh and below advertised for several grand and goodness help you if you want a 15.2hh or bigger!!!

Something local, at least 14.3, possibly older (since in a few yrs Mo will be riding anyway and then said horse could be his field buddy), and I wouldn't mind one bit if my son (5, autism and epilepsy) could have a little go round the paddock but equally something that will move if I ask it to.

That is actually quite demanding isn't it lol

You're not alone MosMum! I don't want to do any of those things either and I have three horses who don't showjump/XC/dressage/hunt or 'have potential'. They're very good at mooching around the yard, eating, adjusting their position so you groom the bits they like, breathing on the cat (she loves that), one is a particularly skilled sniffer horse and pickpocket and they're all excellent mud magnets. All in all a competely talentless bunch, but loved to bits by me and my OH!
Good luck with your search.

Ooooh - Fireflymac, I've got one of those Mooching Horses too! Mine's also good at climbing over stable doors deliberately shortened for miniature shetlands and eating their dinners while his mother's back is turned. I fear mine may have a shortened life expectancy though.
