So today, we boxed up my newboy & Mini Me's Pony and went out low key show jumping - so our FIRST time out as Mum & daughter competing if you want to call it that lol....

Day could NOT have gone better - Mini Me's pony can be a ******* to catch but decided today something was going on & walked up to the gate at the early hours of 7.30 am .... lol.
So got Mini me cracking with grooming etc while I went & got newboy ready ( really need to stop calling him this lol ) ...

Off we went, and shock horror Mini Me's pony travelled PERFECTLY with my new boy - normally she is quite eh opinionated & marish but for some reason there was no problem..lol....

So arrived at venue lots of time to walk course & do entries & grab a coffee...

Mini Me & Ponio were just fantastic..... double clears over the crosspoles & 50 cms & tbh would have been well up for the 60's & 70's.... was hilarious after their 50's round as the commentator said well another great clear round showing all of us here today how is should be done!! Lol - que eh proud mummy moment... Mini Me is really starting to get her eye in now - and ride decent lines & judge her stride - not bad for 6yrs old lol!!!

So onto me - and really couldnt be happier - NO dizzying heights jumping lol but first time taking him show jumping & am not very confident & he can be " looky" que me having a meltdown walking the course & seeing jump number 2 had castle turrets as wings!!!!!

Well I needen't have worried - WOW cannot remember the LAST time Id felt that confident around a yes small show jumping course... he was fab, NO " looking at anything at all" really saw his stride & loved every second of it.... yay!!! As most of you know this is a MASSIVE deal for me - given we have jumped more in the past wk than since I got back in the saddle last year...

So, couple of snaps below - not great & none of ME jumping BUT was an incredibly special day out with Mini Me, hopefully first of many...

Lovely thread Showpony. I remember doing a few parent and child comps at hunter trials with my son when he was small. I was ridiculously proud. We never had matching ponies, though.
