It's all seeming very real now! Bens bits and bobs came through for royal cornwall show today!! He is number 268
my stomach flipped when I realised I had my tickets and entry stuff in my hands!
Then a stroke of luck, infact I've been very lucky, I have been leant a bridle, beagler and cords by a lovely friend... She is borrowing my show cane and leather girth for Devon county this weekend, between the two of us we are able to ensure the other is pretty much fully kitted out
. Then I turned up tonight at the yard and quite bizarrely yo's hubby had found a navy tie on their hedge... I now have a much needed navy tie
. All I need now is a hairnet and some boots and I'm all sorted.
Benjamin has had a few days off now just relaxing and eating grass, he is quite full of beans so work is starting again, he still has awful fluffy legs which I am most worried about now... Everything else seems achievable but this winter coat just ain't shifting
Next step is a show the weekend before the county show, so the first weekend of June and I've decided to hack him over to it, I was going to box him but I reckon if I hack this will take the edge off before we get there. Luckily he isn't one to sweat! I'm then hoping to do an inhand class on HC as they have classes for 3yrs and under but he is four, its the kind of show where this should be allowed. Later on is a ridden coloureds and if he seems ok, we will do that too. Then yo is going to bring him back on the lorry.
It's not seeming like something off in the distance... Suddenly it's a few weeks away. Lots and lots of hard work to go and yes I'm nervous and yes I'm worried about things like his coat growing out etc, but I'm a little bit excited too
