but there is a BUT!

have been offered a lovely little horse that belongs to a friend.
it does what i want it to do, has winnings etc.

the problem is it doesnt pass flexion tests on one leg.

how much would you pay for a horse with winnings and DC disco / Bn with much more scope to go further knowing it wont pass a vet?
the horse is 7

There is a whole thread on flexion test froma day or 2 ago

I would read that and consider how much importance to put on that test.

Remember that insurance may be difficult with a failed vetting - they may refuse to cover for the amount you want, hence a lot of horses like that end up selling for £2500-£3000 because at that value they wouldn't require the 5 stage certificate.

Trike wouldn't pass a simple trot up half the time let alone a flexion test

It really depends what you want for the horse longer term. If you want to keep it for life and it can give you some pleasure ad some experience in the ring...perhaps win some classes...then pay what you're willing to lose on it. If however you want to sell it on at some point in the future then consider what potential buyers might offer for a crocked horse...probably not a lot

I pad a couple of grand for Trike...probably a lot more than I should have tbh...but my OH adores him and I get plenty of fun from him too...and he's with us for life so I couldn't care what I lose on him. I've lost a hell of a lot more than that on cars over the years
