Her name is Indy, she's ancient but adorable, plays like a cat and it seems someone dumped her out of a car so she ended up in the dogs home in Bristol. Here she is one week on.

aww she is so sweet!
well done for taking on a rescue and good luck with her
I stopped outside a nearby village shop and petted a lurcher-type dog with strange, sticky-up ears....just then a woman came out of the shop with two young children, one a girl of about 7 or 8 ...."I want to walk her!" she wailed. Mum explained they'd only got the lurcher the previous day from a rescue centre. She was 13.........which, to me, was such a lovely gesture that someone was willing to take on an elderly dog (albeit it apparently healthy) and make it "one of the family". Good on you, Oneofthepack, and that lovely family in Much Hadham!
She looks so relaxed and settled with you.....obviously a natural lurcher person
Whoever dumped her at that (or any) age wants stringing up, the heartless b*****ds.
Lovely that the family in Much Hadham took on an oldie lurcher, but next time you see them, PLEEEASE tell them not to tie her up outside the shop, or unfortunately they won't have her for long

Ahh, it was Much Hadham where you saw the dog outside the shop! Thick me thought you knew where I used to live, but how weird is that!!! I used to live in Ash Meadow and down the lane by The Old Crown, then I moved to Hunsdon before moving here to Somerset. I might know you! Where do you live?
No, Oneofthepack, I don't live in Much Hadahm, I live in Stocking Pelham, but I work five mornings a week looking after the horses belonging to a woman who bought the house and a few stables which previously belonged to Hadham Mill Riding School. The riding school's still there, minus the house and a few acres! And, yes, I know Ash Meadow - our GP's surgery is there - did you have the totally mad Dr B? He said to a patient in the waiting room "Good God - I thought you were dead!" - he's hilarious!
Yes, I suffered at the good Dr B's hands many times!!! I used to ride and work at Hadham Mill when I was a girl too! And one of my best mates lives in Stocking Pelham, opposite the pub on the corner. Small world
