Following on from my 'How to keep your whites white?' post in CR I washed my lovely new dressage square the other night.
Baring in mind OH does all the washing, I'm not really familiar with a washing machine (I know how to switch it on) but all those settings and buttons baffle me
OH has always insisted that I was not to wash my ''filthy disgusting flea ridden horse stuff''
in the washing machine but to hand wash them but while he was out on Sunday, I ventured into the unknown.
muaaaaaaahh
Wasn't sure which side to put those squidgy orange things in so I put them in both sides of the draw, some fabric conditioner in both sides and for extra whiteness some in the tumble bit where I put the numnah, moved some settings to hot wash colour fast cotton...I think.
I was very proud of one's self watching it when it fired up but it was taking ages, the lights were on but it wasn't doing anything....then realised I'd not closed the door properly
but then it started and it was tossing and turning my numnah round good and proper, but it seemed to take ages...and ages, I think it was washing my one numnah for about an hour?
why so long for one thing?
Anyway all excited once it finished, pulled it out, lovely and clean and white no boot stains etc, smelling all lovely but it was half the god dam size!!!!
I nearly cried, in fact I think I did!
So after a huge sulk and a glass of white wine I tried stretching it but it seemed dry, why would it come out dryish when its been washed?
Anyway OH washed some clothes yesterday and went mad, he didn't know I'd fiddled with the settings and washed my numnah the other day, only done a 'full load' as he called it and went mad once he realised I'd used his washing precious washing machine when he pulled everthing out.
Apparently I've shrunk all our clothes.
