Oops! Please don't ask me to call a dressage test!

I was asked to call a dressage test for someone today - their first competition as well!. I've never in my life called a dressage test for anyone but since there was no one else I agreed. She gave me her test - a 20m x 60m arena test - agggh extra letters to learn! And she gave me a diagram of the arena she had drawn but it was from the judge's view. Another women said she draw one for me, so I followed her to her jeep and fairplay to her she drew one for me. When I looked up I saw the girl entering the arena for her test - aaaaaaagggggggggghhhhh I ran as fast as I could to the arena while trying to read the test and figure out where she was, I finally found where she was I just shouted working trot, WORKING TROOOOOTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!' When I got to the side of the arena I realised it wasn't the rider I was to call for but a complete stranger who looked at me very funny

I apologised and hid my stupid head.

I eventually did call the test with no problems but OMG never again!

I REFUSE to call tests because once one person sees you calling someone else comes up saying ooooh you wouldn't mind doing mine would you and so on....

At my first ever dressage, aged about 6 and a half on my shetty my dad called the test wrong, 3 times so I was eliminated! I always make sure I learn the test and do away with readers now!

I am ashamed to say I once caused a little girl to get eliminated by starting to call her test before the judge rung the bell (so she entered before the bell and got eliminated)! In my defense there were three judges cars parked right next to each other and I mistook one horn for another. Still poor little girl...

That is so true.
I seem to end up calling tests for a lot pf people I have never met. Dont mind though as helps to pass the time when I have daughter doing prelim then wife doing mediums. Can be a long wait in between
