I was out on a hack on my share horse today having just received a body protector off eBay this morning and deciding it was too hot, and what happens?!
We were going over a little bridge thing that we have been over countless times, when horsey reached up to grab a mouthful of tree because she is a greedy beggar, with this distraction she stepped over the side and we tumbled into a ditch!
I crawled into the tunnel of brambles as my ankle was under her whilst she rolled on me, managed to get out through them (ouch, thorny!) And get round to the front where she just lay there eating like a big dope! When she started trying to get up with me trying to help her she ended up ploughing into the tunnel of Brambles and I had to go back in and back her out with yet more bramble injuries as a result!
As she is not my horse I was absolutely freaking out that she might have hurt herself, but thankfully it was just a few surface scratches which I have cleaned and put equisalve on, I hope they will be ok!
My first unplanned dismount in like 6 years! Still, better that than on the road any day, but will be watching out for absent minded nibbling in future for both our sakes!

Unfortunately it does seem to be true, I got my daughter a new hat, cue fall, new body protector, cue fall 2, new boots etc etc...
