Just posting because I haven't for ages :P The forum's fast again tho, yay!

I cantered Ozzy on a hack for the first time the other day, and he has since turned into a hyperpony

All that's on his mind is 'gallopgallopgallop' and he's started jogging! xD Quite odd, he's usually a lazy lump! And Jayjay's better too! About 100kg overweight, and his sinuses still aren't right, but his food's not coming out his nose any more! We can ride him again now!

Also, bad Oscar news

An osteopath came out on wednesday, and said that he's not in pain, but will probably never jump or do dressage, and that he's the wrong shape for arena stuff, but it's fine to canter and do small jumps (1 foot) in straight lines on hacks.

Was v. upsetting, but we knew it was always a possibility... And I'm still hoping - He's only 6, has no muscle on his bum, and the back lady, when she saw him, said he'd come right with time...

Would you reccomend working him for a few months and building up muscle, and then getting a back lady or a vet out to have another look? I'm just going to enjoy him for who he is at the moment, but I do feel a bit left out - I haven't jumped for 2 months and can't believe how bad at it I've become. I can barely do a ft without feeling nervous! lol

And then my little sister is doing huge stuff and doubles and spreads and urgh.

Haha, sorry about this being so long!

Sorry that you had bad news from the osteopath

I'm not an expert, but if this isn't going to cause him any harm, then I think you should do it. If you don't, you'll always wonder if it would have helped, won't you?

Thankyou <3

Yeah, she said he can do light school work, but pretty much anything on a hack... I was thinking lots of hills? It's his bum, really. The front half is very good, but his bum and hips sort of trail behind...
