Do you think it is wrong to stable horse in an open fronted field shelter on the odd occassion. The field shelter is partitioned (2 x 12by12) and has a 6 ft openings where I can put slip rails up to keep them in. My field is sodden at the moment and just want to give the water to soak in a bit and the horses to dry out so want to keep them in most of today. Its exactly like a stable but with no actual lower door and a bigger than average gap. Will it be too draughty for them?

My shetland pony has a stable with an open front. Otherwise he gets very over-heated. It has a really big over-hang, so the rain does not get in. I think he prefers it.
