I have never used open fronted tendon boots before, but my new horse doesn't respect the poles that much, so I have been recommended by my instructor to use them. Are the plastic ones as good as the leather ones? some people say they rub, but I would prefer to have ones that aren't too expensive!

Any boot can rub if it doesn't fit; leather just as much as synthetic materials.

My favourite tendon boots are the veredus ones - have the pro light ones for everyday use and the gel ones for competitions. I also have some NEW ones which are wool lined for the thin skinned beastie. Trizone ones are meant to be good budget ones too.

I've just got some of the Tri zone, and they are really nice boots, and so lightweight! I also have an old pair of Veredus Prolites which have lasted years, and do a good job, never moved or rubbed any of my horses. Eskadron I have also found good, but eventually the elastic went in them.
