Opening a livery yard what do you need

a friend is looking into this, and keeps talking about a change of career and doing it, if she has her own land (with xc jumps on) and stables (but no school) what do you need in the way of insurance, health and safety regs and such like? Does it change of you offer DIY or Part?

She will need public liability as a minimum, if she's dealing with the horses then she'll probably need care and control too, buildings insurance (for business use) will also need to be included, if she was to phone NFU they will build an exact package for her.

LOL - we're thinking of doing the same thing and NFU were really helpful (even though I asked lots of stoopid questions!)

She will need planning for change of use, from private to business. She will then pay business rates on the property.
