I fancy getting myself a new dressage whip and like the look of the Fleck Triple whip but not sure which variant to plump for. Anybody use these whips who care to give an opinion? Is just to tap my horse up to get her to get her to use her back end more effectively when schooling.

Thanks

I used to have one and I really liked it. That said, I've stopped buying posh whips nowadays, as I've gotten cheaper and my horse and I are a serial whip killers. I have a terrible habit of leaving them on the ground where she steps on them, or getting them caught in the hinge of stable doors.

I am pretty careful with my stuff but see you point. Can you remember which one you had? Just wondered if leather flap was more effective than the cord.

I've got a Fleck whip, but it was quite a cheap one (under £10). It's longer than standard schooling whips and also very flexible. Really easy to tap the horse without moving your hand. I've just got a lash end. I had a flap ended whip before but it was stiff and heavier.

I did have an eventing type fleck whip for £35 until I saw a cheapo similar one which was a fraction of the weight and only £10 so I took the fleck back.

They are lovely whips ( and fleck make the nicest best balanced driving whips too )but my kill rate for whips is so high I just get cheap ones half a dozen at a time.
